Technology Year 7 Guiding Question: How to Design A Footstool and Consider style in
Many homes have a footstool as part of their furniture. Footstools
solve various problems and are a
practical piece of furniture that most families use. They are invaluable for comfort and
for functional uses. A furniture maker is wanting to make a range of “Footstools”
that are designed for a function or style to increase its sales.
You are to design and make a Footstool that would be suitable for
a use for a family.
A range of footstools are to be considered and must be no larger
than 350mm x 250mm x 250mm.
It must be made primarily out of Manufactured board or
It must be safe for the whole family to use. (It must be
stable, sturdy and have no sharp edges or toxic materials involved)
The footstool will need to have a particular style.
You must design and create a footstool that follows these
guidelines and finished to a high quality.
